Alma Barnett, 75, of 120 N. Thoman St., Crestline, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in
Crestwood Care Center in Shelby after a short illness.
She was born February 15, 1925 in Ashe County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late James and Dora Blevins. Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Rodney Todd of Crestline and Patricia and Larry Harris of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Cheryl Barnett of Americus, GA; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters: Fannie Blevins and Ruth Collins, both of Prince George, VA, Jessie Beavers of Delaware and Opal Atwood of Green Valley, AZ. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Arthur and Thomas Blevins and a sister, Esther Dostie.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Badger Funeral Home, 300 N. main St., West Jefferson, NC. where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Scott- Blevins Cemetery, Lansing, NC. Turner Funeral Home in Shelby assisted the family with local arrangements.
