Florence Iona Levering, age 92, formerly of 140 Leslie Lane, Shelby, died early Monday morning, November 18, 1996 in Med Central Shelby Hospital after a short illness. She was born March 4, 1904 near Greenwich, Ohio the daughter of Dallas and Jennie (Vanasdale) Markel.
Mrs. Levering was a retired self employed practical nurse, and was a member of A.A.R.P. She was baptized into the Christian Church in 1923.
She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Delbert “Deb” and Clara Gamble of Shelby 3 granddaughters, 4 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Delbert Gamble, her second husband, J.B. Levering, 1 son, James Gamble, 4 brothers, Virgil, William, Rex, and Claude Markel and by 3 sisters, Hazel Markwell, Bessie Lehman, and Dessie Gerwig.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Turner Funeral Home in Shelby with Father John C. Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
