Janice Mae Squire, age 92, formerly of 21 Sherwood Drive, Shelby, died Thursday evening, July 1, 2004 at the Crestwood Care Center.
Janice was born September 23, 1911 in Greenwich, Ohio the daughter of the late Wilber B. and Linnie (Stoner) Squire. She retired in 1974 after 40 years of service as an elementary school teacher teaching at Grant, Central and Dowds Elementary schools in the Shelby City School System. Prior to that, she had taught for 2 years in the Plymouth schools. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby and the Priscilla Circle at church, the Mansfield Federation of Women, Retired Teachers Organization, and National Teachers Association.
Janice is survived by cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby, with Rev. Steven C. Bond officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby is in charge of the services.
