Jay Elvin Zimmerman

Jay Elvin Zimmerman, age 11, of Greenwich, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born October 21, 2000 in Greenwich to Elvin H. and Marie Z. (Martin) Zimmerman. Jay Elvin was a member of Blooming Grove Mennonite Church.

Surviving, along with his parents, are 2 brothers: Laverne Zimmerman and Marlin Zimmerman; 5 sisters: Ruthann Zimmerman, Anna (Aaron) Nolt, Miriam (Edwin) Zimmerman, Elva Jane (David Paul) Stauffer, and Marietta Zimmerman; paternal grandmother, Anna Zimmerman; maternal grandparents: Israel S. and Anna H. Martin; 3 nephews; 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Enos Zimmerman.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the family home, 2237 Plymouth East Road, Greenwich. The family will meet at their home on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 8:45 am prior to funeral services at 9:45 am at Blooming Grove Mennonite Church with Bishop Amon Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, is in charge of the arrangements.
