Lane Mahon, age 85, of Shelby, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

 

He was born February 28, 1930 in Ragland, West Virginia the son of the late Van B. and Lurenda (Runyon) Mahon. Mr. Mahon retired in 1992 from Cyclops in Mansfield after 28 years of service.

 

Lane is survived by his children: Blane (Mary) Mahon of Bellefontaine, OH, Danny Ray (Helen) Mahon of Shelby, Julis (Denise) Mahon of Shelby, Stella (Howard) Martin of Tiro, Thella (Bob) Wells of Shelby, Darlis Legg of Shelby, Judy Allen of Shelby; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; a sister: Edna Murphy of Buffalo, OH; and his best friend: Lynn Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife: Gladys (Collins) Mahon on April 13, 2011; 5 brothers: Lewis, Horace, Troy, Van and Woodrow Mahon; and 3 sisters: Virgie Murphy, Effie Murphy, and Elizabeth Epplin.

 

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 10-11 AM at the

Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held

at 11 AM with Rev. S.T. Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
