Mabel Leid Garman, age 52 years 7 months and 12 days, of Shelby, died Sunday morning, December 1, 2024 at her home.
Mabel was born April 19, 1972 in New Holland, PA to Elmer and Lydia Leid. Mabel was a homemaker and loved working on the family farm. She was a member of the Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church.
On October 20, 1992 Mabel married Kenneth Martin Garman and he survives along with their children: Brian (Mary Jane) Garman of Mansfield, Sharon (Larry) Zimmerman of Mansfield, Martha (Stanley) Zimmerman of Plymouth, Keith (Denise) Garman of Shelby, Mary (Glenn) Zimmerman of Ashland, Sandra Garman (special friend, Ivan Ray Zimmerman) at home, and Kevin Garman at home; 10 grandchildren; mother: Lydia Leid of New Holland, PA; siblings: Emma (John) Shirk of Manheim, PA, Irene (Linus) Martin of Mifflinburg, PA; Alvin (Marian) Leid of Shippensburg, PA, David (Velma) Leid of Big Prairie, OH; Verna (Paul) Zimmerman of Nova, OH, Ella Mae (Moses) Shirk of Shippensburg, PA, John Elmer (Mary Katherine) Leid of New Holland, PA, Mary Ann (Elvin) Zimmerman of Tiro, OH, Susan (Nelson) Hoover of Shippensburg, PA, Leroy (Susan) Leid of Stanley, WI, and Martha (Steve) Garman of Tiro, OH; mother-in-law: Mary Ann Garman of Narvon, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mabel was preceded in death by her father, Elmer B. Leid, and father-in-law, Harry H. Garman.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 1-4 and 6-8 pm at the family home, 6081 Baker Road 47, Shelby, OH 44875. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 9:30 am at Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church on the corner of Dinninger and Plymouth Springmill Road, Plymouth with Bishop Ammon Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
