Muriel M. Daugherty, age 95, formerly of 170 West Main Street, died Tuesday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. She was born July 8, 1893 in Tiro, the daughter of Dr. W. H. and Ida M. (McClellan) Guiss.
Mrs. Daugherty is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. John (Betty) Hursh of Brevard, NC; 1 son Robert R. Daugherty of Shelby; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Daugherty in 1964 and by 1 son William W. Daugherty in 1988.
Mrs. Daugherty was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, The Daughers of The American Revolution, and Rizpah Chapter #153 Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home wlth her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Tiro. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and left at the Funeral Home.
