Leo Joseph “Moe” Hartings, age 92, of Shelby, died peacefully late Thursday night, October 22, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral arrangements are currently scheduled for calling hours being held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 3-7 pm at the Penwell Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5742 State Route 61, Shelby, with burial following in the church cemetery.
Moe and his beloved wife, Bev, have shared nearly 69 years of marriage, a life filled with faith, family, and service to others. As the family mourns Moe’s passing, Bev’s health is also rapidly declining, and she is receiving loving care at home. The family respectfully asks for continued prayers for Bev’s peace and comfort, as well as strength for their entire family during this especially difficult time.
